KATERINI, Greece – Colorado Mesa women's wrestling had a pair of individuals compete at the U20 Beach Wrestling World Championships and UWW Senior World Series event in Greece over the weekend.
Redshirt sophomore
Adriana Gomez placed third in both events over the weekend. She started the weekend with three wins in her pool all coming in the first minute of action during the U20 World Championships.
In the semifinals, she fell to Ana Maria Rotaru of Romania 3-2 before rebounding with a 3-0 win in the third-place match at 50kg.
In her second event of the weekend, Gomez placed third at the UWW Senior Beach World Series event at 50kg. In the third-place bout, the Laveen, Ariz. native defeated former Beach World Champion Stefania Ivascu Priceputu of Romania 1-0.
