COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa junior Gauge Lockhart was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Player of the Year on Thursday (May 15) just ahead of the Mavericks matchup with MSU Denver in the NCAA South Central Regional.
 
Lockhart is working towards his MBA at Colorado Mesa after earning his degree and transferring from Brown University. He is a 4.0 student and has had an outstanding season on the mound for the Mavericks.
 
The West Slope native from Delta, Colo. is 8-1 on the season with a 5.51 ERA in 50 and two-thirds innings on the mound for the Mavericks. He has 45 strikeouts and opponents are hitting just .241 off of him.
