This weekend the Colorado Mesa basketball teams are re-engaging a long-standing tradition of hosting the Maverick Thanksgiving Classic on the Friday and Saturday after the Thanksgiving holiday.
 
This year, the Mavericks are offering two separate opportunities for fans, donors, season ticket holders, and others to get involved with this year's Thanksgiving Classic. The first being a Hoops for Coats Drive during both days of the tournament. A table by the entrance to Brownson Arena will be collecting coats that are in good condition, of any size and not ripped or heavily stained. The coats will be donated to local shelters in time for the Holiday Season.
 
The second is a chance for anyone to purchase a suite for the day at the Thanksgiving Classic. There are two suites available on Friday and Saturday at a cost of $550 which includes 15 tickets, food, and beverages along with a great seat and experience to take in the action, for up to four basketball games, for the day.
