TEMPE, Ariz.— Colorado Mesa University junior
Devyn Rodriguez is in the No. 35 spot of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's NCAA Division II rankings for women's singles and leads a group of four Maverick singles players and three doubles duos in the regional rankings, released this week by the coaching organization following the fall portion of the 2025-26 season.
Rodriguez went 9-2 throughout the fall and advanced to the semifinals at the ITA West Regional Championships, played Sept. 25-27 in southern California.
She is also ranked fourth in the West Regional rankings ahead of senior teammate Jade Brilhnate, ranked 14
th. Brilhante went 5-4 in singles play throughout the fall, including a 2-1 mark at the regional championship.
The Maverick women also have two nationally-ranked doubles teams in
Catalina Ballon/
Delia Maier and
Valentina Gonzalez/
Sophie Hartman. Ballon and Maier are ranked fourth and went 7-2 throughout the fall, while going 3-1 and into the semifinals at regional tournament. The all-freshman combo of Gonzalez and Hartman reached the quarterfinals and went 8-1 throughout the fall, including a perfect 3-0 record at No. 3 in the team duals.
On the men's side, CMU seniors
Emil Hultman and
Henry Scheck are ranked 19
th and 20
th, respectively, in the regional singles rankings while Scheck and
William Leschig are fifth in the doubles rankings.
Hultman went a combined 7-1 in his three tournaments while Scheck went 3-5. He and Leschig went 5-2 in doubles action and won their first two matches at the regional to advance to the quarterfinals.
The ITA's national rankings include the top 50 singles players and top 20 doubles teams. The regional rankings include 20 singles players and ten doubles teams in each of the nation's eight regions.

Although the Mavericks will play out of the South Central Region for NCAA Team Championship selection purposes this season, the Mavs are part of the West Region from an ITA standpoint and participated in that region's individual tournament to cap their brief fall season.
CMU's women went 2-1 in team matches, including a 2-0 mark against Division II opposition. The Maverick men competed in three individual tournaments but did not play any team matches throughout the month of September.
Coach
Dan MacDonald's squads will begin the main spring season on Feb. 7 (men) and Feb. 8 (women), playing doubleheaders at Division I Idaho State.
