GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— Colorado Mesa University's
Savannah Spitzer has been selected to the Bring it Promotions (BIP) All-Star Team for a tour of Europe and international volleyball tournament in Croatia next month.
Spitzer will be on the BIP SE U23 team which will play in a July 15-19 tournament in Pula, Croatia. The event will feature other national-select teams from the US, junior national teams as well as elite club teams from all over the word. The BIP Select U19 and U23 teams will begin the tour in Vienna, Austria before moving to Bratislava, Slovakia. The squads will then make their way to both Bled and Ljubljana, Slovenia before competing in the Global Challenge International Tournament, which was first played in 2005.
Spitzer, a native of Aurora, Colorado, competed her collegiate eligibility in 2023-24, earning her second AVCA Honorable Mention All-America honors at her middle hitter position as a fifth-year senior. She was also a 4-time All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference selection and completed her career with a .370 attack percentage, the third best in CMU history. Spitzer also tallied 869 career kills and 1,027 total points.
She also shined in beach volleyball for the Mavs earning AVCA Small College Beach Championship All-America honors after leading the Mavs to a NCAA Division II title at that tournament in 2022.
This summer's tour will mark the third time that Spitzer has been included on the tour's roster. She also played in 2021 and 2023.
