COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Colorado Mesa University standout
Lauren White was named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the league announced Monday. The Golden, Colorado native earned an institutional record 30 career all-America honors during her swimming career. She also recently graduated with a degree in business administration with a 3.82 GPA.
White capped her career by winning a pair of national titles in relay events at the 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, helping the Mavericks finish a program-best second in the final team standings at the national meet. She also helped the Mavericks to their sixth straight RMAC team title.
White won 19 conference titles during her five years with the Mavericks and helped them set new RMAC Championship records in the 200, 400 and 800-yard freestyle relays at this year's championships. She also departs CMU as a 27-time First Team and 32-time overall All-RMAC performer.
In 2024, White earned the maximum seven all-America honors, anchoring the Mavs' 200 and 400-yard freestyle relay teams to national titles in her final two nights of competition. She also anchored the Mavs to a runner-up finish in the 800 free relay and took third in the 100-yard backstroke and eighth in the 200 back. White also placed 11
th in the 200 free and 12
th in the 50 free in her other two individual events at the national championships.
White also earned a slew of academic awards in her career, earning College Sports Communicators First Team Academic All-America honors for the second straight year after claiming Second Team honors in the Women's At-Large sports category as a redshirt sophomore in 2021-22. She was also a 5-time CSCAA Scholar All-America and was named to the RMAC All-Academic First Team for each of the past three seasons.
White, who was also CMU's nominee for the RMAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year award in 2023, will be honored at the 2024 RMAC Hall of Fame Ceremony and Awards Banquet on Thursday, July 11, inside the Colorado Springs Marriott in Colorado Springs, Colo. Doors will open at 5 p.m. MT with the awards and induction ceremony to begin at 6 p.m.
