Mavericks compete at CNFR

The CMU Rodeo returned from their 11 day long trip to the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming.  For the first time in school history the CMU Mavericks qualified a full women's team, sending 4 individuals to the title event of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, (NIRA.)  All 4, McKenna Clingman, Wylee Mitchell, Justise Jones, and Izzy Yama competed in the initial three rounds of qualifying, and while non were able to match the mark for the short round, a former CMU rodeo team member, Makayla Farkas was crowned as the National Champion in the breakaway roping.  On top of making the CNFR, Mitchell and Jones were named to the NIRA Scholar American Team, for their academic achievements as well as their success in the arena.
