KEARNEY, Neb.— Multiple time all-American Colorado Mesa University sprinters
Sierra Arceneaux and
Elijah Williams led a small group of Maverick athletes at the Concordia Twilight and Loper Twilight last-chance meets here on Saturday and in nearby Seward on Friday night.
Arceneaux shattered her own 200-meter school-record on Saturday, cruising to a winning time of 23.33 seconds at Saturday's Loper Twilight after setting a solid time of 11.54 seconds in the 100 on Friday at the Concordia meet, just off her altitude-adjusted season best of 11.52. Her 200-meter time, which currently ranks her fifth on the NCAA Division II National Championship qualification list, was well under her former Maverick record time of 23.47 seconds, set last month.
Meanwhile, Williams posted a 200 time of 20.96 on Saturday, just off his own school-record of 20.88 and moved up to 26
th on the national performance list. He also anchored the Mavs' 4x100-meter relay team to a Bulldog Stadium record time of 40.43 on Friday night, as the Mavs moved up slightly on the national list after running to a 40.47 altitude-adjusted mark last month. Friday's time, set by

Kade Christensen and Williams was also the second fastest actual time in program history behind the quartet's flat time of 40.35 at the CSU Pueblo Open.
In other events,
Heather Yackey recorded a discus throw effort of 44.47 meters (145-11) at Concordia before finishing just off of that at 43.35 meters (142-3) in Kearney.
Hayden Riley won the invitational discus throw evet on Saturday at the Loper Twilight with a throw of 49.81 meters (163-5).
In the javelin,
Cameron Kalaf had a mark of 60.64 meters (198-11) at the Loper Twilight after taking second at the Concordia Twilight at 59.53 meters (195-4). Teammate
Gavin Korkeakoski had a mark of 58.29 meters (191-3) at the Loper Twilight after finishing at 52.76 meters (173-1) on Friday.
In Kearney, Christensen ran the 100 meters in a wind-aided 10.66 seconds to match his career-best while Thornton finished in 10.73 seconds. Casados finished the 200 in 24.38 seconds as well.
