Mavericks Hold Strong at No. 2

In a weekend filled with almosts and close calls the lady Mavericks are still holding on to their #2 ranking overall in the Rocky Mountain Region.

Team captain Wylee Mitchell kept her streak alive, once again qualifying for the short round in multiple events, Barrels and Goat tying.  Despite running a faster time than last year at the Cache County Fairgrounds, she ended up 7th in the barrels and 9th in the goats, both solid showings against a tough round of competition.  Transfer student rose to the occasion, qualifying for the short round in only the goat tying, but leading the pack for the weekend as the single highest point earner for the Mavs by placing in both rounds and the average, ending at 4th.

The only other Aleah Mazurek was the second highest earner for the weekend.  After sneaking into the Barrels Short round in 10th place she improved her time by over 3 tenths of a second in the short round to catapult up the standings and end up 5th in the Average.

Other notables included Josie Roselle and Hope Bondurant (10th and 8th in the breakaway, respectively) and Kaden Radebaugh, 10th Steer Wrestling, the only CMU cowboy to qualify to a short round at the Utah State University hosted Rodeo.
