Mavericks Win Their Seventh Straight to End Three Game Road Trip

ALAMOSA, Colo. - The Colorado Mesa women's basketball team saw their seventh straight victory as they finished their three-game road trip on Friday with a 74-59 win over Adams State.

Colorado Mesa University continued to see the confidence and team chemistry continue to soar as the Mavericks five starters all got into double digit points for the third time this season.

Redshirt junior Monica Brooks picked up a double double as she had 11 rebounds and 16 points. She also went 7-10 from the field.

The Mavericks continued to see their defense get better each game and a big part of that is the rebounding duo of graduate student Kelsey Siemons and graduate student Sophie Anderson. Siemons had eight rebounds, all of them being on the defensive side of the game.

Anderson has become a force to the Mavericks defense as she has the ability to get from one end of the court to the other to gather both offensive and defensive rebounds for the team. Anderson had two offensive and defensive rebounds giving her a total of four on the night.

Graduate student Mariah Martin continued to be solid offensively for the Mavericks as she put up 21 points on the night.

The Mavericks as a team thrived from the field as they shot 50%. They were also able to shoot 41.2% from the arc.

CMU returns home to Brownson Arena for their final two home games of the regular season beginning Feb.18 against Regis University, They will then face off against Colorado School of Mines on Feb.19. Tip-off for both games is set from 5:30 p.m.
