Mavericks Rumble Past Rangers

Grand Junction, CO – Back home in Brownson Arena, the Colorado Mesa women's basketball team made it 8-straight wins as they took down the Regis Rangers Friday night, 73-52.

Daniella Turner, turned in 24-points on the night to lead all scorers, her 11th 20-plus point outing of the season. Mariah Martin chipped in 18-points, making it 12 consecutive games in double-figures.

Kelsey Siemons finished with a double-double behind 17-points and 11-rebounds, going 3-4 from 3-point range and adding two blocks in the process as the Tucson native eyes 200-career blocks.

The Mavericks went up 7-0 out of the gates, continuing to build on their lead and opening up to a 29-12 advantage after the first and leaving Regis stunned. The Rangers would outscore the Mavs 17-12 in the second quarter, but it wasn't enough to overtake the dominant output by CMU in the first quarter.

With a 46-30 edge in paint points, the Mavs were quick to get open and handle passes for the open layup. Martin finished with 7 assists, but close behind was Monica Brooks who dished out a season best six.

Sam Deem was the lone ranger for Regis, leading her team with 11-points and 7 rebounds.

In their regular season home finale, the Mavericks will take on Colorado School of Mines tomorrow in Brownson Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
