HUNTSVILLE, Ala.— Colorado Mesa University's Macie Lachemann and Holly Schmidt wrapped up their weekend at the AVCA Fall Beach Championships, dropping their only Sunday match to Arizona State's Taryn Ames and Lexi Sweeney in the semifinal round of the 53^rd place bracket here at the John Hunt Park Sand Volleyball Complex.
 
Ames and Sweeney won the match 21-13, 18-21, 15-8 as Lachemann and Schmidt, one of just two NCAA Division II pairs in the 64-pair field, went 1-5 on the weekend, finishing in a tie for 55^th overall alongside Tampa's duo of Julia Oswald and Angel Williams, the only other Division II team in the field, which also lost a 53^rd place bracket semifinal to a Georgia State duo.
