Hunter Honored for Career Night

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The National Football Foundation Colorado Chapter (NFFCC) announced their Player of the Week on Tuesday (Oct. 4) morning. Colorado Mesa's Karst Hunter was named the recipient of the award this week after his performance against Western Colorado.

Hunter had career-high despite the overtime loss last weekend. He was 30-of-53 passing with 336 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. His 30 completions, 53 attempts and 336 yards were all career-highs. He threw touchdown passes of 35-yards (Keenan Brown) and 34-yards (Noah Sarria) to lead the Mavericks back from 21 points down to force overtime.

He was also a factor in the ground game as he had a career-high 111 yards on 17 attempts and a score. He averaged 6.5 yards per carry and scored on a keeper from 1-yard out in the third quarter.

The honor is the first such honor of the year for any Maverick.
