KEARNEY, Neb.— Colorado Mesa University's
Beau Thornton posted the third-fastest wind-legal 100-meter time in Maverick history to highlight two days worth of performances at a pair of Loper Twilight Meets, held Saturday and Sunday here at Kearney High School. The meets were last chance meets for athletes to set new or improved national qualifying marks in advance of Tuesday's NCAA Division II Championship selection announcement.
Thornton ran a time of 10.73 seconds in Saturday's meet, just slightly off his wind-aided best of 10.66 seconds from last month.
On Sunday, freshman hurdler
Zayden Davis posted a wind-aided time of 14.79 seconds. He already ranks third in CMU history with a wind-legal mark of 14.84.
