COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Led by now 3-time NCAA Division II Men's Diver of the Year
Ammar Hassan, the Colorado Mesa University Mavericks had 13 athletes selected as all-Americans by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America this week. Those athletes earned a combined 44 honors, including 15 first team and 29 second team plaudits.
Hassan swept both the 1 and 3-meter titles at last week's NCAA Division II National Championships in Birmingham, Alabama for the third time and became the first ever 6-time NCAA Division II national diving champion. He is also now the CSCAA's first three-year national diver of the year for any division since Purdue's David Boudia who the Division I award in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
The various Coach, Swimmer and Diver of the year honors was bestowed after a nationwide vote of CSCAA member Division II head coached and head diving coaches. One additional vote was determined by the public via online polling.
The CSCAA All-America honors were primarily based upon individual finishes at the national championships. The top eight finishers in each event were named as first team all-Americans while ninth-16
th place finishers received second team honors. Additionally, any swimmer who met the CSCAA's high automatic time standards could receive first team honors. See

The Maverick women who finished 12
th as a team in last week's meet, their highest ever national finish, had seven athletes earn 32 total all-America honors.
Lily Borgenheimer,
Elsa Huebsch and
Lauren White all received six total honors while
Kelsea Wright was a 5-event honoree as a member of all five Maverick relays.
Katerina Matoskova (4) and
Robyn Naze (3) were also multiple award-winners as was diver
Jolynn Harris, who received first team honors on the 1-meter after a national runner-up finish and a second team honoree on the 3-meter.
The Maverick men matched their program record with an 11
th place national finish and had six all-America honorees, including four divers, who received a dozen combined all-America certificates. Hassan and
Tanner Belliston were first team selections on both boards while
Isaiah Cheeks and
Chandler Livingston both nabbed a first team and second team plaudit.
Junior swimmer
Mahmoud Elgayar also received honors in three events, including a first team recognition in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Matheus Laperreire was also a second team honoree in the 200 Freestyle.
