Gunnison, Colo. – Colorado Mesa combined for 106-points Saturday afternoon in Paul Wright Gymnasium, defeating University of the Southwest on day two of the Comfort Inn Classic.
The Mavericks hit as a high 57.6 clip from the floor, and drained another 10, 3-pointers on their way to their second straight win. Defensively, the team grabbed 49 rebounds, snagged 10 steals and recorded five blocks, withholding the Mustangs to a 32.7 shot percentage.
Trevor Baskin captured his first double-double of the season behind an 18-point 13-rebound performance, while also collecting three steals and three blocks.
Blaise Threatt led all scorers with 22-points, making it three straight games with over 20-points for the redshirt freshman.
Those were just two of the six Maverick players who put together 10-or more points on the afternoon.
Mac Riniker was flawless from the floor, going 7-for-7 with 15-points.

Isaac Jessup with 11 and 10-points respectively to complete the team's double figure scorers.
It was Colorado Mesa from the start as they built up a 19-0 lead within the first five minutes before the Mustangs ended the run with a three-pointer. The Mavericks never let up and found themselves ahead 57-21 at the end of the first half.
The second half saw the Mustangs work to close the gap, putting together 31 points – but it was no match for the 49 points the Mavericks added to their point total.
After being on the road for the past three weekends, the Mavs will finally have the home advantage next weekend as they host the Holiday Inn – Airport Thanksgiving Classic in Brownson Arena. They will take on Our Lady of the Lake Friday, and close out the tournament with Simon Fraser both games scheduled for 7 p.m. tip-off.
