COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Colorado Mesa University setter
Sabrina VanDeList was named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's First Team Academic All-Conference Volleyball Team it was announced by conference officials on Monday afternoon. The Severance, Colorado native, who has a perfect 4.00 GPA, led a group of 11 Mavericks honored for their academic prowess on the conference's annual Academic Awards release.
The Mavericks' honor roll selections were

Sierra Hunt,
Hahni Johnson,
Macie Lachemann,
Kerstin Layman,
Ara Norwood,
Caroline Pung,
Holly Schmidt,
Gabrielle Vogt and
Tye Wedhorn.
To be eligible, student-athletes must carry a 3.30 or higher cumulative GPA, have been at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters and use a season of competition. The sports information directors from each conference member then select the 10-player first team based on a combination of their athletic and academic accomplishments. Other qualified student-athletes not selected for the first team receive Honor Roll status.
VanDeList, a pre-nursing major, was named as the RMAC Freshman of the Year and to the First Team All-RMAC squad in the spring of 2021 while helping lead the Mavericks to the RMAC regular season championship and 15-1 overall record. She has posted even better numbers this fall and currently ranks second in the RMAC for assists per set (10.53) and fifth for service aces per set (0.42).
She has recorded three 50-plus assist nights this fall and has seven double-doubles this fall after racking up six in the spring. She has been named as the RMAC Setter of the Week on five occasions during the calendar year, including two this fall.
Norwood has now been recognized on the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll four times in her career while Schmidt and Wedhorn have now been recognized three times in their collegiate careers. Layman and Hahn are now 2-time honorees.
As a team, the Mavs are 17-4 overall and 12-2 in RMAC play this fall and are tied for second in the conference standings. They have won nine consecutive matches.
