GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Newcomer
Ethan Richardson's double-double paced the Colorado Mesa Mavericks in an 86-74 win over the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves on Saturday evening in a Brownson Arena in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference showdown.
Richardson finished with a game-high 21 points and 10 rebounds in just his second game with the Mavericks. Richardson was 10-for-12 from the floor and made his lone free-throw, an and-one with 3:04 to play giving the Mavericks a 82-65 advantage.
Richardson led a quartet of Mavericks in double digits.
Jared Small finished with 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting while
Michael Skinner finished with 12 points and added seven assists and seven rebounds.
Tommy Nuno added 11 points.
The Mavericks led by as many as 18 points after the and one by Richardson with 3:04 to play and led for over 24 minutes of the contest.
Colorado Mesa moves its record to 10-5 overall and 6-3 in the conference while the ThunderWolves 7-8 overall and the 5-4 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The Mavericks will continue their four-game homestand next week with a pair of home games against RMAC rivals Adams State and Fort Lewis. The will play the Grizzlies on Friday at 7:30pm before a Saturday evening showdown with the Skyhawks at 7:30pm.
