LAKELAND, Fla. – Despite six different Maverick scorers the Colorado Mesa men's lacrosse team fell to 3-5 on their season after a 18-6 loss to Florida Southern on Sunday afternoon to close out their two-game Florida spring break trip.
While no Maverick had more than one goal the Mocs of Florida Southern had six players with multiple goals and two with hat tricks.
The Mocs scored four goals on a man up opportunity while the Mavericks only converted one of their five chances.
Joe Wulforst IV scored the initial goal of the game which was the Mavericks only lead on Moccasin Field. The Mocs followed with a 6-0 run that lasted until the 5:47 mark in the second quarter when Micheal Dasch Jr. recorded his fifth goal of the season to trail 6-2.
In the third quarter the Mavericks scored four goals, but Florida Southern matched them to hold a 10-6 lead entering the final stretch of the game. The Mavericks let up eight more goals in the final quarter including one man up opportunity to reach a final score of 18-6

The Mavericks will look to break their three game losing streak on March 27th at 7 pm on Walker Field when they take on Notre Dame De Namur for the second time this season. Earlier on February 22nd the Mavericks defeated the Argonauts 30-5.
