COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –
Georgie Dancer hit a pair of free-throws with 25 seconds left to put Colorado Mesa ahead for the final time in a 75-72 win over the UCCS Mountain Lions on Friday (Dec. 6) evening at the Gallogly Events Center.
UCCS had one final opportunity after Dancer's free-throws but
Jared Small came up with a steal, putting the Mavericks back on the free-throw line. Dancer buried both of those for the three point advantage.
Dancer finished with a game-high 21 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field. He was 8-for-10 from the free-throw including 4-for-4 down the stretch.

Tommy Nuno had 12 points in those final six plus minutes of action and finished the game with 20 points.
Rebounding was an issue all night but Colorado Mesa came up with the boards when they needed them most. UCCS had a 38-23 advantage on the evening in rebounds but turned the ball over 19 times that led to 21 Maverick points.
Colorado Mesa finished shooting 50 percent (25-of-50) from the field and an astounding 88.9 percent (16-of-18) from the free throw line for the contest.
The Mavericks move to 5-2 on the season and 1-0 in conference action while UCCS falls to 4-2 on the year and 1-1 in the RMAC.
The Mavericks will close out the weekend in Golden with a matchup with Colorado School of Mines at 7pm in Lockridge Arena. The Orediggers were 85-67 winners over Western Colorado on Friday evening.
