COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University women's swimming and diving team moved up one spot to ninth while the Maverick men dropped two spots to 13
th in the first regular season edition of the TYR/CSCAA Division II Polls, which were released on Thursday afternoon, by the coaching organization.
The CMU women had been ranked 10
th in last month's preseason poll while the men had been ranked 11
th.
In Thursday's poll, the Maverick women received 97 points. They are the only Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference team in the top 25 although CSU-Pueblo picked up two points in the voting.
Queens (N.C.) is the top-ranked team with 149 points ahead of UC-San Diego (145), Indianapolis (137), Drury (133) and West Chester (124).
CMU's men received 69 points in the polling of the committee members. RMAC rival Colorado School of Mines is ranked 23
rd with 18.
UC-San Diego is the new top-ranked team with 120 points, two clear of Indianapolis. McKendree (115), Queens (113) and Drury round out the top 5.
The Mavericks will host the A3 Performance Invitational next week.
