HURRICANE, Utah – The Colorado Mesa triathlon team finished their final meet prior to the National Championships on Saturday at the Southern Utah Triathlon. The Mavericks had a 1-2-3-4 finish for female racers with the men going 1-2 overall.
Freshman
Mazzy Jackson picked up her second win of the season finishing in a time of one hour, 12 minutes and 59 seconds. Jackson also had a win at the West Region meet earlier this season and had a third place finish at the East Regional last weekend. Jackson finished second in the overall race.
Sophomore
Hannah Croasdell finished second in the meet, one minute and 18 seconds behind Jackson for the overall female title. She was followed by her teammates
Madison Batkiewicz (+4:54) and Savannah Liedy (+9:59).
On the men's side, Collin Braatz was the overall race winner in a time of one hour, 11 minutes and 22 seconds which was one minute and 37 seconds better than any other competitor. The win was Braatz' first of the season.
Teammate Joseph Graff was five minutes and 46 seconds behind him on the men's side.
Colorado Mesa will compete at the USA Triathlon Collegiate Championships on Nov. 16 in Tempe, Ariz.
