TEMPE, Ariz.— Due to recent heavy rains and unsafe conditions in the Salt River, the format for Sunday's Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championships has been changed.
The event will now be contested as a run-bike-run duathlon at and around the Tempe Town North Lake Park.
The first segment will be contested on a 2.5-kilometer run-in course into the transition area. The triathletes will then compete on three laps of the original bike course for a total of 20 kilometers before completing their races on the originally planned out-and-back run course for five total kilometers over two laps.
A new course map can be seen above.
