Box Score DENVER, Colo. – The Maverick women's tennis team fell 6-3 to the MSU Denver Roadrunners on Saturday afternoon after The Regency Athletic Complex in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.
MSU Denver claimed all three doubles matches but the Mavericks made it interesting during the singles matches.
Kristen Kirby led off and took the point at No. 1 singles after her opponent bowed out with an injury. Kirby was leading 2-6, 7-6 (5), 2-1 before the match was halted.
Emily Beckley had a come from behind win over nationally ranked No. 27 Tabitha Porter at No. 2 singles. Beckley dropped the first set 1-6 but rebounded by winning the next two sets 6-4 and 6-1 for the victory.
At No. 4 singles,
Taylor Hershey claimed the straight set victory over Ainsley Winterrowd 6-3 ,6-2.
Colorado Mesa and Colorado Christian cancelled their make-up match from yesterday after weather began to move into the area this afternoon.
The Mavericks final dual of the regular season is scheduled for April 14 against CSU-Pueblo at the Elliott Tennis Center.
