Colorado Mesa University was looking to make it three wins in a row on Friday, and it was the Thunderwolves hoping to not let that happen. However, despite having the home field advantage the Mavericks were not going to be denied, winning the game 20-6.

CMU was able to score within the first two minutes of action, thanks to a man-up opportunity where
Jack Griffin scored his 25 goal of the season. The Mavericks would then outscore the Thunderwolves 4-2 over the next 10 minutes to give CMU a 5-2 lead. A late goal by CSU-Pueblo (CSUP) cut the lead to two entering the second quarter.

From the beginning of the second quarter till the 11:33 mark of the fourth quarter, the Mavericks would go on a 13-0 run. The Thunderwovles tried to cut into the lead but the Mavericks were able to keep pace and won the game by 14.

The Mavericks outshot the Thunderwolves 54-28 on the night, which included 28 shots on goal. CMU also won 20-28 face offs, helping to give the Maverick offense more opportunities.

Calen Ketcham and Griffin were the leading scorers on the night, with both scoring four times. Griffin also added two assists to his name to give him a game high six points.
Remi Reeves got the start in goal, and he finished with four saves over his 45 minutes of action.

With the win the Mavericks moved to 10-2 overall on the year, and they remain a perfect 3-0 in the conference. CMU will look to extend their win streak on Sunday against Adams State University. Game time is set for 12 p.m.
