Colorado Mesa University was looking to go perfect in conference play for the first time in program history on Saturday afternoon. However, it wasn't going to come easy for the Mavericks against Westminster College (WC). A goal by Troy Vance of the Griffins with 3:16 to go in regulation tied the game up at 11-11 and sent the game into overtime.

In overtime neither team was able to get an edge until
Calen Ketcham took control with 1:25 remaining. Ketcham was able to swing around the defenders and fire in the game winning score to give the Mavericks the 12-11 victory.

The win gave the Mavericks their eighth consecutive win, and their 19
th consecutive conference win dating back to last season.

CMU's offense was all over the field throughout the contest, finishing the game with 45 shots. Twenty-seven of those shots came on goal. The Mavericks also finished with 39 ground balls on the afternoon, compared to the Griffins 25.

Ryder Clark came up huge for CMU, helping to force the Griffins into 12 turnovers. Clark also collected four ground balls.

Three Mavericks finished with two goals apiece, with Ketcham and
Reece Callies leading the team with three points apiece.

Remi Reeves received the win after collecting 11 saves on the afternoon.

CMU finished the regular season with a 15-2 overall record and a perfect 8-0 conference record. The Mavericks will now host CSU-Pueblo in the first round of the RMAC tournament. The game will be at Walker Field this Friday. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
