Box Score 2 DENVER – The Colorado Mesa women's tennis team moved in to the RMAC Championship match after a hard fought 5-3 win over CSU-Pueblo in the semifinals of the RMAC Championship tournament. The Mavericks were swept in the RMAC Championship bout by MSU Denver 5-0.
In the final, Colorado Mesa dropped all three doubles matches with the closest coming at No. 2 where
Emily Beckley and
Rebecca Osterberg fell 9-7 to RMAC Player of the Year Alex Pessoa and Tabitha Porter.
Colorado Mesa dropped matches at No. 2 singles and No. 6 singles with all other matches going unfinished as the Roadrunners had clinched the match.
MSU Denver completed the sweep with wins at No. 3 and No. 6 singles.
In the semifinal, the Mavericks took two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead into the singles matches.
Kristen Kirby and
Taylor Hershey earned an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles while
Nicole Kitsuse and
Georgia Hansen battled to an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles.
Kirby, Hershey, and Kitsuse all earned singles wins to clinch the bout.
