It came down to the final possession once again for the Mavericks, with this time
Calen Ketcham coming away as the hero. Both Colorado Mesa University and Rockhurst University were knotted up at 9-9. With the clock running down, Ketcham received a pass from
Connor Larrick and was able to dunk in the score at the buzzer to give the Mavericks the 10-9 victory over the No. 17 Hawks.

The win gives the Mavericks their fifth in a row and their 16
th straight win against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opponents.

CMU came out of the first quarter with a 3-1 lead thanks to goals from
Jack Griffin, Jake Hardin and
Jayden Campbell. However, the Hawks responded in the second quarter to tie the game up at 5-5 heading into halftime.

Both teams played it even again in the third period, with both teams scoring three times. That made it an 8-8 game heading into the final quarter of regulation.
Johnny Cary scored first for the Mavericks with 12:09 remaining to give them the 9-8 lead. About six minutes later, the Hawks were able to respond and tied it up at nine all for the remaining 6:47.

Both teams were neck and neck in the shots department, with the Mavericks finishing with just one more attempts (40-39). CMU also finished the game with four fewer turnovers on the afternoon, 16-12.

Five Mavericks were tied atop the points board on the afternoon, all finishing with two. Five others finished with one point a piece.

Remi Reeves was in net for the Mavericks, finishing with 13 saves in his eighth win of the year.

The win moved the Mavericks to 12-2 overall and 5-0 in the RMAC. CMU will come home for their next two games next weekend. They will face off against Adams State University and CSU-Pueblo.
