AZUSA, Calif. – The Colorado Mesa women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to ninth-ranked Azusa Pacific to start off their Southern California swing during spring break. The SoCal rains came and shortened the match to seven.
 
At No. 1 doubles, 
Kristen Kirby and 
Taylor Hershey fell in highly contested match 8-5 to Diana Baumgartnere and Petra Ivankovic of Azusa Pacific.
 
Kirby was the lone Maverick to take a set during singles competition. The sophomore dropped a 4-6, 6-2, 10-2 decision to Toby Miclat at No. 1 singles.
 
Rebecce Osterberg had the tough draw as she faced off with No. 32 Diana Baumgartnere and fell in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.
 
Colorado Mesa now sits at 8-10 on the season.
 
The Mavericks will head south to San Diego tomorrow to take on Point Loma Nazarene.
