LA JOLLA, Calif. – No. 4 Colorado Mesa came from behind for a 9-8 win over the Concordia Irvine Eagles in 10 innings on Saturday afternoon at Triton Ballpark. The win evens the season series with the Eagles at a game apiece.
The Mavericks trailed 8-5 heading into the top of the eighth inning but scored three runs in the inning to knot the game at 8-8.
Dominic DeMarco had an RBI double that scored

The game went into extra innings where
Garrett Ball singled up the middle to score
Nick Borowski for the winning run.
Carr finished the day 3-for-6 with three runs driven in while
Garrett Ball was 3-for-5 in the game.
Right fielder
Reagan Todd hit his first career home run in the top of the third inning to give the Mavericks an early 3-0 lead.
Freshman
Caleb Farmer earned his first career start at third base and delivered. The San Jacinto, Calif. native went 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Tanner Herdt made his first start for Colorado Mesa since 2016. The senior couldn't get out of the fourth inning and allowed five runs on eight hits while striking out three.
AJ Landis pitched the final three and a third innings of shutout baseball to earn the win. The junior allowed just a pair of hits and struck out six while facing just 12 batters.
Colorado Mesa improves to 2-1 on the season heading into the final game of the opening weekend. They will play #7 UC-San Diego at noon in the final game of the weekend.
