Chris Ramirez pitched a complete game shutout in a 4-0 win over Angelo State to send Colorado Mesa into the NCAA South Central Region Championship game at Foster Field.
Ramirez (9-1) was flat out dominant as he retired the first 10 batters of the game before Ram Tyler Coolbaugh's single to center field in the top of the fourth inning.
The Oxnard, Calif. native allowed just four hits while striking out 10. He threw first pitch strikes to 23 of the 31 batters he faced in the game. He didn't allow a runner a base runner past second base.
PJ Gonzalez got the first run in on a bases loaded, double-play in the bottom of the fifth to make it 1-0.
Colorado Mesa loaded up the bases with no one out an inning later and cashed in.

Bligh Madris, followed by a two-run double by
Zach McLeod that scored
Tanner Rempel and Elcock to make it 4-0.
Elcock finished the game 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a RBI. The redshirt junior preserved the Maverick advantage in the eighth inning by snaring a line drive down the line and doubling off the Ram runner that reached on a leadoff single.
The Mavericks 7-8-9 hitters of Elcock, McLeod and
Matt Haggerty went 4-for-8 with two runs scored and three runs driven in.
Colorado Mesa moved its season record to 47-10 while top-seeded Angelo State finishes their season at 44-14.
The Mavericks will play for the region championship for the fourth time in the program's history. They won it in 2009 and 2014 at home and fell to Cal State Los Angeles in 2007 out in California. They are seeking their first championship on the road.
Colorado Mesa will play Arkansas-Fort Smith at 11am (MDT) for the championship. The Lions must beat the Mavericks twice if they are to claim the championship.
