ALAMOSA, Colo. – The No. 18 Colorado Mesa men's lacrosse team got back to their winnings ways with a 15-4 win over Adams State on Friday afternoon in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchup.
The Mavericks got after it early snaring a 6-1 lead after the first quarter of play.
Steve Brandenburg scored two of his game-high four goals in the period.
Colorado Mesa won every period in the match including shutting out the Grizzlies in the 4-0 third period.
Jack Griffin paced the Mavericks with four goals and assisted on two of Brandenburg's goals. He took nine shots in the game and added a groundball.
Jayden Campbell finished with two goals including his seventh man advantage goal of the season.
Sophomore
Remi Reeves earned the win in net, allowing just two goals and made 11 saves.
Nick Wilson and
Christian Cherry combined to allow two goals and made four saves in the second half of action.
The Mavericks improved to 9-2 on the season and 4-1 in the RMAC while Adams State fell to 3-3 and 2-2 in the conference.
Colorado Mesa will take on CSU-Pueblo in a conference matchup on Sunday in Pueblo.
