SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Colorado Mesa split a mini two game series with Point Loma on Monday afternoon at Carroll B. Land Stadium in a non-conference baseball matchup.
In game one, four Mavericks limited Point Loma to two hits but couldn't scratch across a run in a 1-0 loss.
The Sea Lions scored the lone run of the game in the bottom of the third inning on a Harrison Ramey ground out.
Colorado Mesa's best opportunity to score came in the top of the sixth. With one out,
Garrett Ball singled to left followed by a single by
Bligh Madris.
PJ Gonzalez singled sharply to left loading the bases. But, the side was retired on a strike out and a ground out.
JJ Carr had three hits for the Mavericks while
PJ Gonzalez finished the game with two hits.
Jake Mielock took the tough luck loss throwing three innings and allowing one run on one hit, walked one and struck out three.

Taylor Dye combined to pitch five innings and allowed just one hit.
In the second game of the doubleheader,
Kevan Elcock's RBI single in the top of the tenth scored Madris for the winning run in a 3-2 extra inning victory for Colorado Mesa.
Point Loma scored single runs in the second and fifth innings before
Bligh Madris tied the game at 2-2 in the seventh inning on a two-run homer to right center.
Kyle Leahy earned the victory in relief pitching the eighth and ninth innings striking out one. Leahy improved to 5-0 on the season.
Brick Paskiewicz earned the save pitching a perfect bottom of the tenth inning.
Colorado Mesa moved its record to 14-8 on the season while the Sea Lions leveled their record at 16-4.
The Mavericks will resume Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action on Friday at Suplizio Field with a four-game series with rival CSU-Pueblo at 6:05pm.
