LAKELAND, Fla. –
Brandon Wilson's goal with 2:56 remaining proved to be the game-winner in a 10-9 win for Colorado Mesa over Florida Southern in a crucial NCAA South Region matchup on Sunday.
The Mavericks and Moccasins were locked in a see-saw battle with neither team leading by two goals.
Colorado Mesa took their largest lead of the game at 8-6 with
Jayden Campbell's second goal of the game at the 13:16 mark of the fourth quarter.
The Mocs answered back with three goals of their own to take a 9-8 lead but the Mavericks got the game-tying goal from
Jayden Campbell, his third of the day, at 5:09 of the fourth and the winner from Wilson.
Steve Brandenburg joined Campbell with a hat trick in the game. Brandenburg added an assist on Campbell's second goal of the game, a man-up goal.

Remi Reeves once again turned in a masterful performance. Reeves recorded 17 saves and a groundball in the win.
Colorado Mesa was 21-for-23 on their clear attempts but was only able to win seven of the 23 faceoff attempts in the game.
The Mavericks improve their record to 8-1 on the season while Florida Southern dropped to 5-4 on the year.
Colorado Mesa will close out the Florida trip with a bout with South Region rival Tampa on Wednesday March 22.
