After sweeping their games down in Gunnison last weekend, the Mavericks are looking to continue their win streak following Thanksgiving Thursday. Colorado Mesa University is hosting the Holiday Inn-Airport Thanksgiving Classic on Friday and Saturday. Classic will feature the Mavericks along with fellow RMAC opponent Western State and Heart of America Athletic Conference opponents MidAmerica Nazarene University and Central Methodist University.

The Mavericks enter the week with a 2-2 record following their two wins against Midwestern State University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. They will be squaring off against the Pioneers (7-0) and the Eagles (7-0) in their two matchups this week.

CMU comes in averaging just over 81 points per game on 44.3 percent shooting. They have been led by junior Connor Nichols and Emilio Acedo. Nichols is averaging 19.8 points per game, which ranks him second in the RMAC. Acedo is at 18.0 per game, which puts him tied for ninth.

The Pioneers enter the weekend averaging 98 points per game to go along with 26.5 assists. They last defeated John Brown University 91-82 to keep their undefeated season going. The team is led by senior forward Jonathan Green, who is averaging 17.6 points per game for the Pioneers.

As for the Eagles, they too enter the weekend undefeated on the year. They are coming off a 34 point victory over Moody Bible Institute. They are winning by over 30 points per game this season. This includes holding their opponents to only 36.7 percent shooting from the field.

Both games are set for 7 p.m. tip off times at Brownson Arena.
