Colorado Mesa will make its longest road trip in the RMAC when it travels to South Dakota for games at Black Hills State and South Dakota Mines. Mesa enters the weekend after earning defeating MSU Denver and UCCS at home last weekend for its first weekend sweep of the season. Black Hills enters the weekend on an eight-game losing streak and South Dakota Mines has lost four of its last five games.
Out-Rebounded
The Mavericks were out-rebounded in both of its wins last week. Mesa has been out-rebounded in three of its five wins this season.Â
Turnovers
Colorado Mesa forced 20 turnovers against UCCS, most by an RMAC opponent this season. The Mavericks finished with a 26-0 edge in points off turnovers against the Mountain Lions. CMU is 4-8 this season when it commits fewer turnovers than its opponents.Â
Shooting
Saturday's win against UCCS was the first this season for CMU when it has shot worse than its opponent. UCCS shot better from the field (46-percent to 36-percent) and from behind the arc (40-percent to 28-percent).Â
Field Goal Attempts
CMU's 68 field goal attempts against UCCS were the second most the team has attempt this season. Mesa attempted 69 against Wayland Baptist.Â
Free Throw Success
Colorado Mesa shot a season-high 84.6-percent (11-13) from the free throw line in the win over MSU Denver last week.
Eimer Lopez led the Mavericks making 7-of-8 shots.Â
Turnover Margin
Colorado Mesa ranks third in the RMAC in turnover margin at +2.42, and Black Hills State ranks last at -3.00.Â
