ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa men's lacrosse team beat Adams State 9-3 Sunday (April 10).
Both teams would trade goals in the first period, however CMU would go on a five goal run between the first and second periods to lead ASU 6-2.
Colorado Mesa held Adams State to only one goal in the third and ended the fourth quarter scoring three unanswered goals.
Shots favored the Mavs 45-20. 22 of the Mavs shots were on goal compared to the Grizzlies nine.
Faceoffs were close as Colorado Mesa would win 9-of-15.
Ground balls favored the Mavs as they out scooped the Grizzlies 17-11.
Man-down was strong for the Mavericks as they killed off two-of-three Grizzly extra-man opportunities.
Four Mavs had two goal games against the Grizzlies.
Connor Morgan led CMU in points with four.
Zach Weaver was in net for the Mavs making six saves and allowing three goals against.
Colorado Mesa (6-4, 3-1) return to action Saturday (April 16) against Westminster in Salt Lake City, Utah.
