WEEKEND RECAP
Colorado Mesa swept a four-game series from New Mexico Highlands down in Las Vegas over the weekend. They batted .292 as a team and had a team ERA of 3.09 in the series. In two of the games, Colorado Mesa used a big inning to catapult them to victory. In game two, they used a seven run seventh inning to win 8-5 while in game four the scored six runs in the fifth inning in a 6-5 win.

RMAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Freshman ace JR McDermott earned his second RMAC Pitcher of the Week award after pitching seven shutout innings against New Mexico Highlands. McDermott allowed three hits, walked two and struck out nine while limiting hitters to a .136 average in the game.

RMAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior designated hitter Ben Chamberlin was named the RMAC Player of the Week after his series with New Mexico Highlands where he batted .563 (9-for-16). He added two doubles, two home runs, three runs scored and seven runs driven in. 

ERA
Colorado Mesa's team ERA of 2.94 ranks No. 11 in NCAA Div. II and is behind national leader Cal Baptist who has a 2.24 ERA. JR McDermott, Matt Allen and Tanner Herdt are all in the top five in the RMAC in ERA with McDermott and Herdt in the top 25 in the country.

DEFENSE
The Maverick defense has a .976 fielding percentage on the season which is tops in the RMAC and fourth in Div. II this season. They have committed just 25 errors in 29 games.

LESS THEN FIVE RUNS
When the Colorado Mesa pitching and defensive units limit opponents to less then five runs, the Mavericks are 23-1 on the season.

COACHING
Head coach Chris Hanks won his 700th game for the Mavericks on February 19 in a 5-4 win over Cal Baptist. He has spent his entire 17 year coaching career at Colorado Mesa and has won 11 RMAC Championships and two NCAA Regional titles.

PROTECTING THE HOUSE
Suplizio Field has been very kind to the Mavericks for several seasons now. The Mavericks are 113-14 the past four seasons including the 27-5 record last season. They have not been shutout at home in 371 straight games dating back to the 2004 season (L 0-3 Western Oregon, Feb. 14).

RMAC TOURNAMENT IN 2015
Colorado Mesa claimed their second consecutive RMAC Tournament Championship, defeating MSU Denver 7-6 on a walk-off home run by Alex Fife. It is the the Mavericks 11th RMAC Tournament Championship, most by any school in the conference. 

REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
The Mavericks hosted the NCAA South Central Regional for the second straight season and went 1-2 in the tournament. The Mavericks fell to St. Mary's then went on to defeat St. Edward's before falling to eventual champion Angelo State.

ON DECK
Colorado Mesa will head out to Pueblo for a four-game series with RMAC rival CSU-Pueblo on Friday April 8. The series could decide the RMAC Champion as both have just one loss in the conference.
