WEEKEND RECAP
Colorado Mesa picked up a series win over No. 29 Cal Baptist in Riverside, Calif. over the weekend. In the opener the Mavericks scored seven runs in the final three innings highlighted by a three-run homer by Mitch Robinson. In game two, the Mavericks broke a 4-4 tie in the ninth on a bases loaded walk by Bligh Madris to pick up the win. In game three, the Mavericks were tagged with their first loss of the season in a 6-1 loss. In the finale, James Young III's sac fly brought in Kyle Serrano for the winning run in the ninth in a 5-4 win.

STREAKS
Sophomore outfielder Bligh Madris snapped a 24 game hitting streak on Sunday but extended his on base streak to 39 games. The last time he didnt reach base was March 21 against New Mexico
Highlands where he went 0-for-3.

RMAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Junior Nick Borowski was named the RMAC Pitcher of the Week after his two relief appearances against Cal Baptist last weekend. Borowski earned a win and a save while pitching five shutout innings, allowing just four hits while striking out eight.

SCHEDULE
Colorado Mesa finished the first half of the non-conference schedule with a 6-1 record. A four-game series with 13th-ranked Dixie State is up next for the Mavericks with a two game set with Northern Colorado on March 15 looming as the final two non-RMAC games.

RANKINGS
The Mavericks are ranked in the top five in the four major national rankings outlets. They are as high as No. 3 in both the NCBWA rankings Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll and as low as No. 5 in the D2Baseballnews.com poll. 

COACHING
Head coach Chris Hanks is closing in on his 700th victory for the Mavericks. He has spent his entire 17 year coaching career at Colorado Mesa and has won 11 RMAC Championships and two NCAA Regional titles.

PROTECTING THE HOUSE
Suplizio Field has been very kind to the Mavericks for several seasons now. The Mavericks are 104-11 the past four seasons including the 27-5 record last season. They have not been shutout at home in 359 games dating back to the 2004 season (L 0-3 Western Oregon, Feb. 14).

RMAC TOURNAMENT IN 2015
Colorado Mesa claimed their second consecutive RMAC Tournament Championship, defeating MSU Denver 7-6 on a walk-off home run by Alex Fife. It is the the Mavericks 11th RMAC Tournament Championship, most by any school in the conference. 

REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
The Mavericks hosted the NCAA South Central Regional for the second straight season and went 1-2 in the tournament. The Mavericks fell to St. Mary's then went on to defeat St. Edward's before falling to eventual champion Angelo State.

ON DECK
Colorado Mesa will open up Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play on the road at Colorado Christian. The Mavericks will play a four-game series starting on Friday at noon at All Star Park.
