DURANGO, COLO. – Mackenzie Edwards finished with a double-double to lead the Colorado Mesa University volleyball team to a 3-0 win at Fort Lewis Friday (Sept. 30).
Edwards finished with a match-high 13 kills and 13 digs.
Hattie Gianinetti hit a match-high .500 with 11 kills on 20 attempts and zero errors.
Kricket Adleman finished 10 digs.
Ali Svorinic recorded 43 of the team's 48 assists on 51 kills.
The Mavericks dominated the opening set by hitting .500 (21 kills, three errors and 36 attempts) and holding the Skyhawks to .172 (seven kills, two errors on 29 attempts).
CMU hit a team-low .152 in the second set but FLC hit .147 in the second set which went to the Mavs 25-21.
The CMU defense held FLC to a match-low .059 and hit .297 in the final set to win 25-17.
Mesa led in kills 51-25), assists (48-22), aces (3-1) and digs (54-33).
Colorado Mesa (10-3, 4-1) will play at Adams State Saturday (Oct. 1).
