RADIOComplete Game Notes for the RMAC TournamentLAST WEEKENDColorado Mesa swept a four-game series from the Colorado Mines Orediggers to close out the regular season. The Mavericks batted .364 in the series and averaged over eight runs a game while having a team ERA of 3.38 and holding Mines to a .235 average.

RMAC AWARDS SWEEPColorado Mesa swept the RMAC player, pitcher, freshman and coach of the year. Seniors
Austin Wallingford and
Ryan Reno were named the player and pitcher of the year respectively while
Bligh Madris was awarded the freshman of the year. Head coach
Chris Hanks was named the coach of the year for the eighth time in his tenure.
ALL-RMAC TEAMThe Mavericks had 10 players named to the All-RMAC team this week. Along with Wallingford and Reno,
Kyle Serrano,
Zach McLeod,
Tyler Ehlers,
Alex Fife were all named First Team All-RMAC.
Nick Cardinale,
Joey Capistran and Madris were all second team selections. Serrano, Wallingford, Fife, Reno and second baseman
Andy Scott were Gold Glove selections.
REGIONAL RANKINGSFor the third straight week, Colorado Mesa is the top team in the NCAA South Central Regional rankings. The No. 1 seed has the right to host the regional tournament which begins on May 14 with the top six teams advancing.

WIN THE SERIESFor the first time in program history, Colorado Mesa won every series of the season. In years past a split of a weekend has caused the Mavericks from attaining that record. This season they won the series against four current nationally ranked opponents.
RECORD BREAKERSColorado Mesa broke the NCAA Division II single-game attendance record in game two of the series with an announced attendance of 5,172 breaking the old record held by RMAC rival CSU-Pueblo. Fans were treated to a Fireworks Show following the game.
PROTECTING THE HOUSESuplizio Field has been very kind to the Mavericks for several seasons now. The Mavericks are 96-8 the past three seasons including the 22-2 record this season. They have not been shutout at home in 336 games dating back to the 2004 season (L 0-3 Western Oregon, Feb. 14).
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPColorado Mesa played for the NCAA National Championship last year coming up just short to Southern Indiana 3-2 in 12 innings. It was the first time in program history the Mavericks have reached the National Championship game.
ON DECKThe Mavericks are a shoe in to make the NCAA South Central Region Tournament are in line to host the tournament next week at Suplizio Field starting on Thursday May 14.
