Following the conclusion of the doubleheader, the Mavericks will have a Qdoba Burrito Eating Contest and a fireworks show.
LAST WEEKENDColorado Mesa took two of three games from the MSU Denver Roadrunners in a rain shortened three-game series. The Mavericks hit .344 in the series and had an ERA of 3.63 while limiting the Roadrunner hitters to a .293 batting average in the three games.Â

Austin Wallingford has been named a semifinalist for the Tino Martinez Award which is awarded to the national player of the year. Wallingford is hitting .395 with 10 home runs this season. Maverick
Austin Kaiser won the award last season.
HITTERSThe Mavericks rank third in the nation in batting average with a .356 average. They trail national leader Minnesota State, who has a .374 average.Â
REGIONAL RANKINGSFor the second straight week, Colorado Mesa is the top team in the NCAA South Central Regional rankings. The No. 1 seed has the right to host the regional tournament which begins on May 7 with the top six teams will advancing.

POLLSThe Mavericks slipped two spots this past week and are down to No. 4 in the Collegiate Baseball poll. They are No. 2 in both the Perfect Game poll and the NCBWA poll while they are No. 3 in the D2Baseballnews.com poll.
CHAMPIONSHIP CITYColorado Mesa won their fourth straight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season championship. It is their 22 conference championship and will look to win their 12th tournament championship next week.
SENIOR WEEKENDThe Mavericks will honor their nine seniors this weekend.

PROTECTING THE HOUSESuplizio Field has been very kind to the Mavericks for several seasons now. The Mavericks are 92-8 the past three seasons including the 18-2 record this season. They have not been shutout at home in 332 games dating back to the 2004 season (L 0-3 Western Oregon, Feb. 14).
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPColorado Mesa played for the NCAA National Championship last year coming up just short to Southern Indiana 3-2 in 12 innings. It was the first time in program history the Mavericks have reached the National Championship game.
ON DECKThe Mavericks will host the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament from May 7-9 at Suplizio Field. CSU-Pueblo and MSU Denver have also clinched spots in the tournament and will face each other in the opening round while Colorado Mesa will face either Adams State or New Mexico Highlands.
