GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Calen Ketcham and Jake Douglas each converted on a hat trick in the Mavericks 15-9 win over the Adams State Grizzlies on a cold and rainy evening at Walker Field. Colorado Mesa finished the WILA season undefeated at a perfect 6-0 and are now 7-3 on the season.
 
After surrendering the first two goals of the game to the Grizzlies, the Mavericks went on a 12-1 run that spanned the 3:52 mark of the first quarter to the 10:32 mark of the fourth.
 
Ketcham finished the night with three goals and an assist while picking up a pair of ground balls.
 
Douglas had three goals on eight shots coming off the bench.
 
David Solomon had five points on the night with a goal and four assists.
 
Alex Utt and Zach Bullett anchored the defensive half of the field. Utt finished the night with three caused turnovers and Bullett picked up four ground balls.
 
Ryan Kolesnikov might have had the most impressive night of any Maverick. Kolesnikov, playing in his first collegiate match, allowed just three goals in over 45 minutes of action. He made eight saves, picked up a ground ball and faced 23 shots while earning his first save between the pipes.
 
The Mavericks will have their final home match of the season next Friday evening in an exhibition match against Westminster. The game will begin at 7pm at Walker Field.
