GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Colorado Mesa jumped out to an 11-3 halftime lead and never looked back in a 21-6 win over the visiting Rockhurst Hawks in a Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association men's lacrosse match at Walker Field.
The Mavericks outshot the Hawks 63-20 in the match and won 22 of the 31 faceoffs.
Austin Pridham led the Mavericks on the night with four goals and an assist for five points. Pridham recorded a first half hat trick after scoring two in the first and one in the second.
Griffen Perkiel had a pair of goals in the first quarter and added his third in third quarter to cap the hat trick.
Daniel Caddoo finished his night with a goal and five assists.
Zach Weaver earned the win in goal making 10 stops on the night and faced 20 shots on the night.
Colorado Mesa will head out on a week long road trip to the southeast. They will take on Shorter University on March 25 in Rome, Ga.
