GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Adams State had four of its five starters score in double figures, including two with 20+ points, in an 82-66 win at Colorado Mesa Friday (Feb. 27).
Juwan Buchanan finished with a team-high 21 points for the Grizzlies, and Shakir Smith added 20.
Ryan Stephan scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to complete the double-double for CMU.
Julian Vasquez scored 15 points and dished out a game-high six assists.
ASU shot 50-percent (15-30) in the first half to lead from the start. The Grizzly defense held the Mavs to 35-percent (11-31) from the floor to lead 38-28 at halftime.
The Mavs offense improved in the second half shooting 52-percent (13-25).
Adams lead grew to a game-high 17 points midway in the second half. ASU outscored CMU 44-38 in the second half.
CMU (19-8, 14-7) will host Fort Lewis in the regular season finale Saturday (Feb. 28).Â
