Men's Soccer Announces Signings

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Colorado Mesa head men's soccer coach Todd Padgett announced the signing of 12 student-athletes to National Letters on Intent (NLI) and will be eligible to play beginning in the fall of 2015. The Mavericks, coming off a trip to the NCAA National Semifinals, signed a group that includes student-athlete's from four different states and one from Mexico.

"We are very excited about this recruiting class and officially welcome them and their families to ours. These are young men who excel in the classroom and a group that will make our University and men's soccer program proud," Padgett said. "We've added great intelligence, size, speed, athleticism, and technical ability to our team with the 2015 class. With what we have coming back and what we've added, we are expecting to again compete for championships and trophies next season."

Coach's Comments: "Jacob is a pure scorer and also has that unique ability to be in the right place at the right time. He can isolate and create things for himself and also play a part in building from the back forward."

Coach's Comments: "He's great at commanding his box and organizing the lines in front of him. He really is well beyond his years in regards to his organizational ability as a goalkeeper."

Coach's Comments: "James is a fantastic all-around player and athlete. For club and high school, he can be found anywhere through the center of the field whether it be as a center back, center midfielder, or forward. He has exceptional organizational ability, vision, and technical ability and may be used either in the center midfield or central defender for us next year."

Coach's Comments: "Oscar is a very fast clever forward with a certain dynamic. His technical ability is superb along with his wherewithal for goal. He's a player capable of linking to beat or taking players on in a 1 v. 1 situation."
