GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The No. 6 Colorado Mesa Mavericks dropped their first dual of the season, falling to Div. I Northern Colorado 22-21 on Thursday evening in Brownson Arena. The Bears won six of the ten contested matches in the dual.
After falling in the 125 pound bout, the Mavericks rattled off three straight bonus point victories.

Daniel Salazar picked up a pin at 141 pounds over Ben Polkowske at the 4:06 mark of the second period. Salazar trailed 5-2 before earning a reversal which put Polkowske on his back.
Nick Swanson followed Christensen and Salazar with a 15-0 tech fall at 149 pounds over Kyle Rodriguez. Swanson led 14-0 after the first period, scoring four nearfalls on the same tilt but was unable to secure the final point until the riding point came after the third period.
No. 3 ranked

The Mavericks last victory came at 197 pounds when
