GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Colorado Mesa tied a season-high with 11 three-pointers made in a 70-48 win over the Metro State University of Denver Roadrunners in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women's basketball game in Brownson Arena.
Erin Reichle scored a game-high 24 points with 21 coming in the first half. Reichle hit on six three-pointers with five coming in the first half. She added four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Shanna Halalilo added 15 points on 3-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc. She pulled down six rebounds as well.
Colorado Mesa shot 37.5 percent (21-of-56) in the game and shot 81 percent (17-of-21) from the free-throw line while the Roadrunners were 31.4 percent (16-of-51) from the floor and made just one three-point basket on the night.
The Mavericks never trailed in the match and scored 17 points off turnovers. CMU was outrebounded 42-39 on the night despite
Ashley Stevens finishing with 10 rebounds.
MSU Denver's big advantage came in the paint where they outscored Colorado Mesa 24-17.
Deni Jacobs led the Roadrunners with 15 points and seven rebounds.
The Mavericks will be back in action tomorrow night when they take on the Regis Rangers at 5:30pm in Brownson Arena.
