Mavericks Come From Behind to Beat Regis

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Colorado Mesa extended their home winning streak to 47 games after a 66-63 win over the Regis Rangers in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women's basketball game in Brownson Arena.

The Mavericks home winning streak dates back to the 2012 season when they dropped a 78-40 decision to nationally ranked MSU Denver.

Colorado Mesa trailed by as many as 11 points that came in the first half while they led for for a little over 10 minutes in the game.

The Mavericks regained the lead for good with 6:58 to go in the game on a three-point basket by Erin Reichle to make the score 52-49. It was Reichle's only basket of the night.

Laurel Kasel had the hot hand on the night for CMU. Kasel scored a career-high 19 points and tied a career-high with three made three's on the night. She also had the task of guarding the Rangers best player and finished the night with a pair of blocks and steals.

Shanna Halalilo finished the night with 14 points while Leanndra Gilbert had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Erika Musante recorded her second double-double of her career after scoring 10 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Colorado Mesa moved into a first place tie in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference after UCCS dropped a 72-70 decision to Chadron State.

The Mavericks will be on the road next weekend with a pair of games against Colorado Mines and Colorado Christian.
