Kaiser, Robertson HIt Mavericks into RMAC Championship

Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Nate Robertson and Austin Kaiser each had three hits and a home run in a 13-5 win for Colorado Mesa over CSU-Pueblo in the RMAC Tournament semifinals at Suplizio Field. The Mavericks pounded out 13 hits including six for extra bases.
 
Robertson finished the game 3-for-4 with four runs and a run batted in. He was just a single short of the cycle as he had a double in the second, tripled in the fourth and homered in the sixth.
 
The Mavericks chased Thunderwolf ace and RMAC Pitcher of the Year Mike Fabrizio in the first inning after a trio of walks, a hit batter and an Austin Kaiser home run. CMU tallied seven runs in the inning.
 
Catcher Austin Wallingford had two hits on the day including his fourth home run of the season.
 
CSU-Pueblo's Lonny Schoon paced the offense with three hits and two runs driven in.
 
All-RMAC First Team relief pitcher Matt Allen got the start on the mound for the Mavericks in the semifinal. Allen went 6.2 innings and allowed five runs on nine hits, walked three and struck out five to earn his seventh win of the season.
 
The combonation of Trent Allianic, Tyler Ehlers and Tyler Dunnington pitched the final 2.1 innings and didn't allow a hit.
 
Colorado Mesa advances to tomorrow's RMAC Tournament Championship game against either CSU-Pueblo or New Mexico Highlands at 12:00pm.
